ABE Travel, Tourism and Hospitality Management
Tourism is the world’s largest industry with revenues of over $500 billion. Our Travel, Tourism and Hospitality Management qualification is QCA accredited and links business principles with sector expertise.
ABE has developed a programme in Travel, Tourism and Hospitality Management, leading to awards at Certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma level. The revised programme introduces students to the principles and practice of modern tourism and explores issues such as ecotourism and sustainable tourism.
Students holding this qualification will be confident in applying key business and management concepts to this growing sector

After completion of the Advance Diploma, students can join third year of Bachelor degree in UK universities. We have got formal agreement with Middlesex University.

The Association of Business Executives (ABE)
The Association of Business Executives (ABE) is a professional membership body and an examination board. They have developed business and management qualifications at Certificate, Diploma, Advanced Diploma and Postgraduate Diploma level. ABE qualifications provide progression routes to degree and Masters programmes worldwide.

Please refer to the following list of requirements and qualifications as a concise guide to establishing the level of entry onto the ABE programmes.
Certificate
No formal qualifications are required but applicants should demonstrate competence in English by the attainment of one of the following:
- British Council - Intermediate Certificate in English/Upper Advanced Certificate in English
- LCCI - English for Business (EFB) 1st or 2nd level
- Pitman/City and Guilds - English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)/English for Business and Communication
Registration Fee: £35 (GBP35) for all programmes except Financial Management
Registration Fee: £50 (GBP50) for Financial Management
Diploma
Applicants must have obtained one of the following:
- ABE Certificate
- Two "A" Level passes plus four GCSE passes at Grade A, B or C, two of which must be English and Maths
- Overseas qualifications which may be accepted by the Registrar as being equivalent to the above
- ABE also welcomes applications from candidates without formal qualifications who have been in appropriate employment for at least two years. A reference letter from employer(s) must accompany such applications

Advanced Diploma
Applicants must have obtained one of the following:
- ABE Diploma
- A UK Degree or Overseas equivalent
- Other recognised qualifications of approved Overseas Institutes of Higher Education
Registration Fee: £150 (GBP150) for all programmes, including Financial Management
The decision of the Council as to the suitability of the candidate shall be final.
How to Register
You must be a registered student to sit for the ABE examinations.
ABE programmes are taught at accredited institutions worldwide, which must meet the criteria set by the ABE Education Committee.
Students enrolling with colleges are advised to ensure that the college has been formally accredited by the Association before enrolment.
Whichever qualification you are applying for, there are two ways in which to apply:

By post
Students wishing to register with the Association must complete the relevent registration form and return it to the Registrar together with appropriate fees, copies of educational qualifications (in English) and details of relevant working experience where necessary.
When to Register
Registration can take place at any time. However, if you wish to sit for a specific examination session, the following deadlines apply:
For the June examinations
Register by the first Friday in March
For the December examinations
Register by the first Friday in September

What Happens Next
As soon as your registration has been processed successfully, you will receive your student welcome pack, which contains all information about your ABE membership, including your membership card, and a detailed syllabus.
Please allow up to 2 weeks to receive your welcome pack, but note that it may take longer during busy periods prior to exams.
Exemptions
Exemptions from Diploma subjects may be granted to holders of qualifications of certain other professional bodies, provided that such qualifications have been obtained by external examination.
Please note that no exemptions are available at Certificate and Advanced Diploma level.
All applications for exemptions MUST be supported by acceptable documentary evidence (in English) of the qualification(s) and the grade or standard attained. Any exemptions granted will be confirmed in writing.
How to apply for exemption
Existing ABE students
Please complete the Exemption Form in the Members Area and return it to ABE along with copies of your qualifications.
Note that no exemption will be granted from any subjects previously failed in the ABE examinations.

Examination
Before the Examination
There is no limit to the number of subjects candidates may enter for, but it is recommended that you sit no more than five subjects at one session. Do not enter for subjects whose dates clash, as the Examination Timetable cannot be rescheduled.
A notification slip will be sent to all candidates by ABE approximately two weeks before the examinations. You must take this notification slip and identification to every examination you sit.

- Complete and print out the form
- Enclose appropriate examination fees
- Return to: The Examination Department, The Association of Business Executives, 5th Floor, CI Tower, High Street, New Malden, Surrey, KT3 4TE, UK
A notification slip will be sent to all candidates by ABE approximately two weeks before the examinations.
If you do not receive your notification slip you can print one from the ABE Members Area or request a copy from the ABE office at least one week before the examinations.
Closing Dates
The December 2009 exams will take place on Monday 30th November - Friday 4th December (inclusive).
Registration as a new student member: Friday 4th September 2009
Examination Entry closing date: Friday 2nd October 2009
Entries received AFTER Friday 2nd October 2009 will incur an additional late fee of £10 per subject.
The FINAL closing date for accepting entries for the December 2009 examinations is: Friday 9th October 2009.
Exam entries received after this date will be rejected and returned to sender.

After the Examination
On successful completion of the Certificate, Diploma Part 1, Diploma Part 2 or Advanced Diploma the appropriate award certificate will be despatched to the successful candidate as soon as possible.
Results and Grades
Results
Candidates will be notified individually of their examination results, normally about two months after the examinations.
Examination results will not be issued to any candidate who owes annual subscriptions or any money to The Association before the fees are paid in full.
Grades
Successful candidates will be awarded a graded pass in each subject. Credits or Distinctions will be awarded where applicable. All result slips show alphabetical grades; it is not the policy of The Association to disclose marks obtained.

Enquiries about Results
ABE provides candidates with a variety of options relating to Enquiries about Examination results (EAR). To apply, candidates must use the EAR form (available in the Members Area). The EAR form must reach ABE no later than 11th September 2009 (for the June 2009 Exams).
The EAR form must be accompanied by the correct payment
There are four different enquiries available:
- Clerical Check: Script(s) checked for correct entry of marks into computer (within 15 working days)
- Re-mark of Scripts: Script(s) re-marked (within 30 working days)
- Re-mark of Scripts Priority Service: This service is relevant to candidates whose immediate progression onto further studies or employment is dependent on their ABE exam results. ABE aims to provide feedback to the candidate within 25 working days of receipt of the EAR form
- Appeal: (Only considered on the grounds of an administrative error which may have had a detrimental effect on the candidate's capacity to best demonstrate his/her abilities)
If you do not receive a letter confirming the grade by the time specified above please check the Members Area on the website for grade changes if any.
The candidate is advised that their subject grade may be confirmed, raised or lowered as a result of an EAR request.
Where an EAR request results in an upgrade, the EAR fee is refunded as a credit to the candidate's ABE account.
