OUR SERVICES

Immigration authorities at the airport often ask students to produce the evidence of having been accepted for a place at the college, and to provide proof of ability to pay fees and living expenses for a full academic year before allowing entry to the UK. Therefore please keep handy your enrolment letter from the college and the draft for the college as evidence. You will also need to have some sterling cash available, and bring enough money to cover your immediate expenses e.g. rail fares, food, accommodation and any emergency expenses.

We do not only teach theoretical classes but also put the students into the practical and real life exposure oriented training classes so as to enable them to manage and handle their relevant knowledge in real life with full of confidence and proficiency. We believe, education and training with us will well equip the students with the necessary skills, talents and knowledge so that they can perform their profession professionally and with versatility. Airport Reception

Students arriving in the UK for the first time may wish to be met by a college representative at the airport. London College of Engineering and Management can arrange an airport pick-up service from either of the Airport, Heathrow or Gatwick. A small charge of £50 is payable if the pick up service is required. Please let the college know at least a week in advance if you require this service.

Accommodation

LCEM has no hostel and we also do not have any contracts with landlords therefore for any accommodation request, we refer to our local landlords either private or hostel owners. This can be arranged to suit your needs either in a single or shared rooms with private landlords, at your request. The rent for economy accommodation is likely to be approximately £75-100 per week. If you would like us to arrange accommodation, please write to the college at least 4 weeks before your intended travel and please forward £200 as accommodation deposit which we will forward to your potential landlord. Please note that if you decide to cancel your accommodation, some of the landlords do not refundthe deposit. Therefore, be sure when you decide. On arrival, you will have to give a month's rent in advance and a month's rent as deposit. This is the normal term for renting a room in the UK. You may also choose to live somewhere else but you will have to give the landlord a month's notice in advance. However, we do not have any control on these issues. We will try our best to help you.

Employment for Overseas Students

Full-time students are allowed to work part-time up to a maximum of 20 hours a week during term time, and full-time during vacations. LCEM can assist students in finding suitable part-time employment. We may also have some part- time job available for which our student swill be given the first priority.
